HIRING: Event Sales Specialist

Job Title: Event Sales Specialist

Employment Type: Full-time equivalent position with flexible hours depending on candidate needs. Initial three-month probationary period to assess mutual compatibility and working dynamics.

Compensation: $15-$18 per hour, depending on experience and availability, plus a 5% gross sales commission per event. All required travel expenses for events/shows are fully covered by the company.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Event Sales Specialist to join our dynamic sales team. As an Event Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue and promoting our event services to potential clients. Your responsibilities encompass maintaining a pristine and inviting retail environment, nurturing client relationships, and maximizing sales opportunities at various events locally, regionally, and nationally.

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Acquisition and Sales: Identify potential clients and provide them with personalized assistance during their visit to our space for both indoor and outdoor single-day and multi-day shows/events.
  2. Consultative Selling: Utilize consultative selling techniques to understand clients' unique needs and curate a shopping experience that aligns with their style, budget, and preferences.
  3. Relationship Management: Cultivate enduring, client-centric relationships, serving as their primary point of contact for all inquiries and assistance.
  4. Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to make data-driven decisions and sustain our competitive advantage.
  5. Event Coordination: Collaborate closely with Business and Studio Managers to ensure seamless participation in events.
  6. Sales Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of sales activities, client interactions, and performance metrics, providing regular reports to the management team.
  7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, operations, and event teams to harmonize sales efforts with overarching business objectives, offering valuable insights for continuous improvement.
  8. Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our product line, encompassing color variations, fabric choices, patterns, sizing, and fit.
  9. Inventory Management: Pack and organize product inventory for events and ensure all necessary fixtures and promotional materials are ready for transport.
  10. Logistics: Load and drive a commercial van to event locations and follow detailed logistics plans to ensure timely arrival and setup. Reimbursement at a rate of 67 cents per mile for the use of your own vehicle if necessary though not typically needed. YC provides use of its commercial vehicle for all events.
  11. Event Setup: Set up booth displays, product showcases, and signage efficiently and accurately to ensure the booth is aesthetically pleasing and reflects the company's brand.
  12. Tear Down and Repacking: Dismantle booth and pack inventory and fixtures post event to ensure all items are securely and properly stored for transportation.
  13. Studio Resetting: Unload the van to reset the studio for local events, maintaining an organized and functional workspace.
  14. Wholesale: Opportunity to pursue wholesale accounts and schedule appointments with boutique owners before or after events in other regions.
  15. Remote work: Opportunity for remote work with the flexibility to choose and curate successful events that meet criteria for our company.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. A proven track record of successful sales experience, preferably within the events industry, product or clothing retail.
  3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally engage with clients at all levels.
  4. Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities, with a steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team, driven by results.
  6. Detail-oriented, organized, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proficiency in using CRM systems and other sales tools to track leads and manage customer relationships.
  8. A passion for events, small businesses, and supporting local enterprises is a significant plus.
  9. Possession of a valid driver's license and capacity to safely drive a small commercial van.
  10. Available for weekend travel and some travel during the week pending event scheduling in and out of state. Tasks include setup, teardown, and physical manual labor involving rolling racks, garments and other miscellaneous fixtures.
  11. Capacity to problem solve creatively, trouble shoot effectively and independently think on your feet to get the job done efficiently with impact.
