FAQ

 How long will it take to get my order?


We aim to ship all in-stock YC items within 2 to 4 business days of purchase. If shipping is delayed for any reason, we will contact you via email.

We ship items via USPS or UPS based on client selection. You should likely receive your order within one week to nine business days after the order is scanned at the shipping facility, pending carrier selected - if you live within the Continental US.

For preorders, please allow up to four weeks due to the nature of being handmade.

  

How does the sizing work?

Our sizing is dual for our knit items (S/M, M/L, L/XL, XL/XXL) because we use a fabric called Roma Ponte. Roma Ponte is a double knit fabric that has some give to it, allowing a little more room for the wearer. However, certain garments with cotton/corduroy fabrics do not have enough stretch. In this case, we suggest calling/emailing to confirm sizing especially when purchasing made to order.

We find that this system works well for our customers. Please reference our size chart for measurement information, and feel free to send us a message if you have questions! The size chart applies to both our knit items and our Trenches.


How do I wash my garment?

 

We recommend dry cleaning our wool coats, and all of our products that feature leather (our Trenches & Ultra-Luxe Cardigans). We recommend hand-washing our garments that feature faux leather (Our Luxe Tri-Pocket Cardigan and Geo Luxe Tunic). Always lay garments flat to dry. 

For our Classic Tri-Pocket Cardigan, Geo Tunic, Luxe Jumper, Faux Wrap Jumpsuit, and Peter Pan tunic, we recommend dry cleaning or hand-washing, but these can also be machine-washed on a gentle cycle in cold water. Always lay flat to dry. 

Our scarves can be hand-washed, just be sure to remove the tassels prior to cleaning.

 

Can I make an exchange?

 

If your item is not a custom order, we offer exchanges or merchandise credit. Because we are a small operation, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges on custom-made items. View our full policy here.

We are happy to offer payment plans, both in-person and online! We offer payment plans in 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 increments. To initiate a payment plan order, please email us at hello@yellowcakeshop.com and we'll get you started!

 

I don't see something in the size or color that I want.

 

We're sorry about that! However, we do offer custom garments. Send us an email to hello@yellowcakeshop.com and we'd be happy to talk further about your project.
