About the Role
Yellowcake Clothing (YC) is a mission-driven, ethically made fashion brand based in Cleveland, OH. We are looking for a reliable, organized, and proactive Part-Time Production Assistant to support our in-house production and order fulfillment processes.
This role focuses on assisting with custom and pre-orders, working directly with local sewists, and ensuring client orders are completed accurately and on time. A basic knowledge of garment construction is essential to understand order specs, communicate effectively with sewists, and ensure quality control.
This is a support role with the opportunity to grow into a part-time salaried position after a 3-month performance review and evaluation against specific KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Fulfillment

Fulfill, package, and ship online and wholesale orders

Track and prepare custom and pre-orders for sewists

Coordinate pick-ups and drop-offs with sewists and contractors using YC’s studio vehicle as needed

Assist with preparing materials such as fabric, tags, and labels for production

Review completed items to ensure they meet construction standards and order specifications
Inventory & Studio Maintenance

Help monitor inventory levels and restock supplies

Keep the studio organized and clean; assist with basic upkeep or delegate to interns when applicable

Maintain order and clarity in storage of finished goods and materials
Communication & Coordination

Provide regular updates on order status to the Operations Manager

Ensure sewists receive clear work orders and instructions

Identify and report any production issues promptly
Occasional Support

Optional support at local retail events, fittings, or photo shoots (with opportunity to earn sales commissions)

Reset studio fixtures and assist with event load-ins/outs when needed
Compensation & Growth Opportunity

$15/hour starting rate (contractor)

15–25 hours per week with a flexible, consistent schedule

Requirements

1+ year of experience in production, fulfillment, studio support, or admin (fashion/apparel a plus)

Basic knowledge of garment construction

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods if needed

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Basic computer literacy (spreadsheets, email, shipping platforms)

Must be available 2–3 weekdays per week onsite
