Shop Policies

YELLOWCAKE EXCHANGE POLICY

Exchanges or store credit are available up to 14 days after receipt of purchase. Refunds are not permitted.  Buyer is responsible for $15 size change fee when exchanging an item for a different size or a 25% restocking fee when requesting to exchange an item or size currently out of stock.  Return shipping costs, mailing insurance, and proper return packaging are the responsibility of the buyer.

Exchanges are not available on sale items or special discounted pieces.  We run a small operation and items are cut to order.  Adjusted price listings per request of the client are final sale.

*Losses: You, as my customer, are not responsible for any losses. All my domestic packages are shipped with USPS mailing insurance for the value of the item as purchased. In the event that you do not receive your item, please contact us as soon as possible.  All items are can be tracked with insurance and priority mailing.  Replacement items will require Signature Confirmation, which means you will need to be present to accept the package, or go to the Post Office to pick up your package. Refunds will be issued for the entire amount if the item cannot be reconciled or remade(purchase price + shipping) via insurance claims filed with USPS.

ABOUT CUSTOM ORDERS/ EXCHANGES

Our main goal is to have a satisfied client above all else-Yellowcake is not beyond negotiating within reason. Re-selling a returned custom garment is not an option for our size store. Yellowcake always recommends professional measurements to be taken for all custom garments or for muslin mocks to be made before hand for fit check if desired.  If client measurements provided are miscalculated or incorrect for fit-but the garment measures measurements as provided by the client, Yellowcake regretfully cannot be responsible or allow refunds or exchanges.

It's my goal that every custom piece of clothing received by my customers matches and/or exceeds their expectations.

A great deal of time and effort goes into the design and creation of each item. At the same time, you are anticipating exceptional value for the investment you are making in buying handmade.

Let's work together to make sure we achieve the results we both desire. For this reason, we respectfully ask certain things from all Yellowcake clients:

1.) Please read the description of each item carefully. If you are unsure or don't quite understand the terminology (e.g. wool crepe, roma ponte, etc.) or want to know more about the item (fabric weight, color, design elements, wearability, etc.) please ask any and all questions before purchasing. Being informed about the nature of your item, fabric weight and design elements of your garment is recommended in this process. We want you to be nothing less than thrilled with your purchase!

2.) Please have your measurements taken by a professional when at all possible.  If you choose to provide your own measurements we are unable to confirm that they are correct by professional standards. Use your best judgment when submitting measurements to us if necessary. Unless the error is on our end, we do not allow returns or refunds. However, we are not beyond negotiating reparations in extreme circumstances. Send us an email and we'll take it from there.

3.) If needed and possible, sending a full body photo and side profile photo is very helpful in getting a better idea of your body type and shape. It is very beneficial to the design process in visualizing the body to find a perfect mannequinn match to fit your garment during the construction process.  This is especially helpful if you have special body type needs(i.e., fuller bust, broad shoulders, tall, petite frame, accented curves and shape,etc.). We greatly appreciate photos, taken wearing either a unitard, swimsuit of close fitting excercise clothes, so that we can better assess the silhouette.  You can send photos with cropped faces and rest assured that any photos sent will be deleted once the project is completed.  All confidentiality will be excercised with each client and materials sent therein.

4.) We can often accommodate design requests (a different color lining, buttons, changed hemline, etc.) but do not accept returns or refunds on these items as they are considered custom.
