HIRING: YC CHI General Operations Associate

Location: YC CHI Shop, 1513 North Western Avenue Chicago, IL 60622

Employment type: full-time

Compensation: $15/hr plus commission on items sold

The following is a list of tasks and responsibilities that fall under the General Operations Associate duties. It is not exhaustive or finite. Should time allow or all tasks be completed admin tasks may be absorbed if needed though not required:-Identify prospective customers by using business directories, follow leads from existing clients

  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and to explain how specific products and services can meet these needs
  • Help customers select products based on the customers' needs, product specifications, and regulations when in studio or at events
  • Emphasize product features based on analysis of customers' needs and on the technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations
  • Answer customers' questions about prices, availability, and product uses
  • Prepare sales contracts and submit orders for processing
  • Follow up with customers to make sure they are satisfied with their purchases and to answer any questions or concerns
  • Assist current Virtual Assistants intermittently with uploading content from small events, in-studio occurrences, fit sessions, etc. (social media, email campaigns, direct mail, special promotions, etc.) within the company budgetary parameters to achieve optimal results
  • On occasion assist with scheduling of fittings, client shopping appts, meetings with prospective constituents, etc.
  • Maintain basic office supply levels (printer paper, adhesive printing labels, packaging supplies, business cards, stickers, packing tape, etc)
  • Communicate with bike courier, standard driving courier, and inventory specialist to assist with order fulfillment

 

  • Qualifications - Required
    • HS Diploma, GED, or 1-2 yrs equivalent work experience
    • Encouraged to participate in a minimum of 1 sales event per month (including setup and teardown of said events)
    • Part-time general ops assoc. Must work a minimum of 2 onsite workdays
    • 1 yr professional retail sales experience
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Outgoing, Driven, self-starter, organized
    • Ability to interact with mgmt and consumers in a friendly, professional manner
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Proficient in professional email writing
    • Must have a current drivers license
    • Access to reliable transportation
    • Customer-service skills. Must be able to listen to the customer’s needs and concerns before and after the sale
    • Interpersonal skills. Must be able to work well with many types of people. They must be able to build good relationships with clients and with other members of the sales team.
